One of the Trump family’s biggest early crypto backers is now a foe. In response to claims of fraud by billionaire Justin Sun, the Trump-backed crypto firm World Liberty Financial filed a countersuit for defamation on Monday in Florida State court, claiming its former ally engaged in “a scorched-earth pressure campaign” against the crypto project as Sun pushed World Liberty Financial to release hundreds of millions of cryptocurrency he owned. Sun is a crypto entrepreneur reportedly worth around $11 billion, and he’s funneled nearly $200 million into the Trump family’s digital assets projects. That includes the $75 million Sun spent on a cryptocurrency issued by World Liberty Financial and another $100 million on acquiring a store of President Donald Trump’s $TRUMP memecoin. The crypto mogul also attended a dinner Trump spoke at that was exclusively for top memecoin holders. But Sun’s love affair with the Trumps turned into a bitter breakup in September after World Liberty Financial froze Sun’s tokens, preventing him from selling his tranche, which is now worth around $240 million at current market prices. A man was detained after being accused of attacking a flight attendant and trying to get into the cockpit on a flight as it landed at Newark Liberty International Airport Saturday, authorities told CNN. Three people are dead and at least three others are sick after a suspected outbreak of hantavirus aboard a cruise ship sailing in the Atlantic Ocean, the World Health Organization said Sunday. The three dead were cruise passengers, said Oceanwide Expeditions, the company that operates the ship, called the MV Hondius, which is currently anchored in Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, an island nation off the west coast of Africa. 1,500 beagles will find new homes after release from research facility

(AP) — The first beagles removed from a Wisconsin dog breeding and research facility that was the site of recent protests seemed to know right away that they were safe. "They started within an hour or so coming up to us, wanting attention. Some crawled in people's laps. Every single one of them are super sweet," Lauree Simmons, president and founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, said Sunday. "I think they are loving the attention. I just know they know they're safe." Big Dog Ranch Rescue and the Center for a Humane Economy negotiated a confidential agreement to purchase the 1,500 dogs for an undisclosed price from Ridglan Farms, where police used tear gas and pepper spray to repel activists trying to take beagles from the facility last month. Protesters also broke into the facility in March and took 30 dogs. Sixty-three people were referred by the sheriff's department to the district attorney for potential charges related to that break-in. Talks to purchase the animals began months before the April disturbance, and Simmons said her group wasn't connected to the protests. Now, Big Dog Ranch Rescue is working with partners

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine on Sunday launched a wave of strikes against Russian oil targets, hitting a key loading port on the Baltic Sea and two tankers that Ukraine alleges were illegally used to transport Russian crude.A nighttime drone strike sparked a blaze at Russia’s largest oil exporting port on the Baltic Sea, the port of Primorsk, according to Russian regional Gov. Alexander Drozdenko.The port, operated by Russia’s state oil firm Transneft, is capable of handling hundreds of thousands of barrels per day. Primorsk, which was targeted multiple times in March, lies over 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) from Ukraine, between the Russian-Finnish border and Russia’s second-largest city of St. Petersburg.Local Gov.
