Jockey Jose Ortiz then helped kick the horse into a sprint to the finish, making up ground quickly and pulling even with Renegade through the stretch run.The two horses battled hard to the finish, but Golden Tempo was able to eke out a narrow, neck-long victory in the race's final seconds.Golden Tempo's victory was a historic one for his trainer, Cherie DeVaux.
