    Updated May 1, 2026, 2:54 p.m. ETNorth Carolina police are asking for the public's help in searching for a local legend who went missing six years ago – he's big, he's pink and he stands on all fours.The missing subject, a concrete pig named Sir Hamalot, was stolen in 2020 from a Raleigh-Durham-area restaurant he once guarded, the Hillsborough Police Department shared in a Facebook post on Thursday, April 30.The department shared the post in hopes of bringing the concrete pig back home"There are some things you just don’t mess with… and this is still one of them," police wrote in the Facebook post.Police said in the comments that Facebook memories inspired the recent post.Here's what to know about the missing concrete pig.Sir Hamalot is 'a local legend'The concrete pig is important to the town of Hillsborough, located about 14 miles northwest of Durham, police said.The pig’s owner is Cannie Lloyd, who works for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Hillsborough Assistant Chief of Police Andy Simmons said in an email to USA TODAY on May 1.Lloyd previously owned a restaurant called Bacons back in April 2020.
