

Reality television star Spencer Pratt’s Democratic opponents in Los Angeles’ upcoming mayoral election have blasted his viral campaign ad, accusing him of copying from Republican President Donald Trump’s playbook.Pratt shared the ad on X on Wednesday, where it has racked up more than 10 million views. It shows him outside the homes of incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and Council Member Nithya Raman, before moving to the mobile home where he has lived with his family since they lost their home in last year’s deadly Palisades Fire.Both Bass and Raman hit back at the ad in comments to Newsweek, with a spokesperson for Bass’ campaign saying Pratt was "doing his best Trump impression."Raman called the ad a "political stunt" and that filming outside of her home "feels unnecessary and reckless."Pratt responded in a social media post that he had filmed "on the public street for two minutes."His campaign has been contacted for further comment via email.Pratt, who rose to fame on the reality television show The Hills, launched his long-shot bid for mayor in January with a mission to "expose the system" after criticizing Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom, both Democrats, over the fire that devastated the Palisades neighborhood.
